Styling and testing Magento’s order confirmation page is traditionally difficult because the success page is only displayed once upon order completion. Refreshing the browser automatically clears the checkout session and redirects you to an empty cart page.

With the free Preview Order Confirmation Page extension for Magento 2, developers and merchants can instantly view, style, and debug the checkout success page directly from the admin without placing continuous test orders.

Installation Guide

Step 1 - Install Preview Checkout Success Page

composer require magepal/magento2-preview-checkout-success-page
Manually
  • Download and install our core extension:
    • https://github.com/magepal/magento2-core
  • Download the extension archive.
  • Unzip the archive.
  • Create the target directory: {Magento 2 root}/app/code/MagePal/PreviewCheckoutSuccessPage
  • Copy the contents from the unzipped folder into this directory.

Step 2 - Enable Module

Run the following commands from your Magento root folder:

php -f bin/magento module:enable --clear-static-content MagePal_PreviewCheckoutSuccessPage
php -f bin/magento setup:upgrade

Step 3 - Configure Preview Success Page

  1. Log into your Magento 2 Admin Panel.
  2. Navigate to Stores > Configuration.
  3. Under the MagePal tab, select Checkout > Preview Success Page.
  4. Enable the preview tool and use the provided preview URL/button to inspect your thank you page.
